After playing well-fought games this season against ACHA Division I team University of
Delaware, Rowan Hockey’s coaching staff anticipates for the team to join the highly prestigious
division in the future.
Rowan Hockey is an American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) Division II team playing
in the Atlantic Coast Collegiate Hockey League (ACCHL).
Under the experienced coaching of Brien Bennet, Ian Kliewe and staff, Rowan Hockey had their most successful season in program history last year, winning the ACCHL championship. Capturing the famed Admiral’s Cup, Rowan Hockey secured championship rings
from this win, a first in school history.
Rowan Hockey plans to keep up their winning momentum with the hopes of moving up to
ACHA Division I in the future.
This season, Rowan Hockey played University of Delaware’s competitive ACHA Division I
team twice, with their most recent game on Friday, November 15 and in a preseason game on
Friday, September 6. University of Delaware (UDEL) ranked in the top 25 of ACHA Division I
have been a true testament for Rowan Hockey to practice playing in the division’s aggressive
regiment.
Rowan Hockey’s coaching staff and players are confident in their abilities to perform at that
eminent level in the future.
“Our players are coming from all over the country to play here. This is a competitive athletic sport,
and you know these kids are trying to get better to move on to this level” says head of
recruitment and Associate Coach Ian Kliewe.
